Leveraging the Pureinsights Discovery platform for Better Search at the EU Publications Office
Publications Office of the European Union (EU) is the official provider of publishing services to all EU institutions, bodies, and agencies. As such, it is a central point of access to EU law, publications, open data, research results, procurement notices and other official information. Its mission is to support EU policies and ensure that this broad range of information is available to the public as accessible and reusable data to facilitate transparency, economic activity and the diffusion of knowledge.
Pureinsights worked recently on a Proof-of-Concept on behalf of the Publications Office of the EU to enhance the search experience to meet higher expectations of users. The following 6-minute demo video illustrates developmental stages of this project with three types of queries, first demonstrated in Google, and then in the Proof-of-Concept environment simulating the web search interface for the EU Publications Office.
The three query types include:
- Traditional keyword search and document results
- Natural language queries and knowledge graph answers
- Natural language queries and featured snippets (or extractive answers)
The solution is made possible with the addition of the Pureinsights Discovery platform.
