Artificial intelligence has evolved rapidly—from rule-based systems to large language models and now to what I believe is the next major step: Agentic AI.
In this short session, I explain what Agentic AI really means, how it differs from Generative AI and AI agents, and why it’s becoming essential for enterprises that want to move beyond experimentation into true autonomy.
Defining Agentic AI
At its core, Agentic AI brings together multiple intelligent agents that can plan, collaborate, and act toward shared goals. Each agent performs its own tasks—using tools, data, and learned knowledge—while contributing to a broader mission. Think of it as a team of AI specialists, each with unique expertise, working in concert.
While frameworks like N8N, LangGraph, and AutoGen are helping developers orchestrate these systems, the concept goes beyond tooling. It’s about enabling AI to reason, coordinate, and adapt—to not just answer questions but to get work done.
How It Differs from Generative AI
Generative AI, as powerful as it is, typically responds to prompts in isolation. Agentic AI systems, on the other hand, use memory, planning, and collaboration between agents to perform complex workflows. They combine technologies like retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), knowledge graphs, and orchestration layers to achieve repeatable, auditable results.
Enterprise Use Cases
We’re already seeing promising real-world applications:
Fraud detection through multi-agent collaboration on data and transaction analysis
Autonomous task planning for internal workflows and decision support
Research assistants that chain together multiple reasoning steps to deliver verified outcomes
Looking Ahead
As with any emerging technology, there’s hype—but also real opportunity. With the right guardrails, Agentic AI systems can be deployed safely and effectively in production environments. At Pureinsights, we’re actively experimenting with these frameworks to understand how they can help our customers make better use of their data and automation pipelines.
If you’re curious how Agentic AI could enhance your business or products, I invite you to watch the session and explore what’s possible.
