OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM
Chief Executive Officer
As an investor and President & CEO of Pureinsights, Kamran provides the company with clear, pragmatic leadership. Pureinsights helps organizations go “beyond traditional search” by leveraging search and complementary AI technologies such as machine learning, knowledge graphs and natural language processing.
With over 25 years in the search industry, Kamran was a key executive at Convera before co-founding Search Technologies in 2005. The company helped organizations build search-based applications using commercial and open-source search platforms and grew to hundreds of customers and 200 people worldwide before its successful acquisition by Accenture in 2017. Kamran then led Accenture’s Search and Content Analytics practice for three years.
A native of Manchester, UK, but now a US citizen, Kamran graduated from the University of Manchester with an honors degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
Chief Technology Officer
Phil is a veteran with over 30 years in the “Cognitive Search” and “Question Answering” domains across multiple industry sectors, including a three-year foray into E-commerce search (B2B and B2C).
Prior to founding Pureinsights, Phil worked for Excalibur Technologies, Convera Corporation, Endeca and Search Technologies. Most recently Phil was Accenture’s Lead Architect for the Search and Content Analytics group in Europe, following its acquisition of Search Technologies in 2017.
Phil finds the art of “cognitive search” and applying leading AI technologies to search projects as exciting now as ever, especially projects that combine modern knowledge graph and NLP technologies with search engines for maximum value and powerful data driven insights. Phil studied Computer Science at Nottingham Trent University.
Vice President of Engineering
John manages all technical and customer delivery operations at Pureinsights. Known for his hands-on style and attention to detail, John is one of the most experienced project directors in the enterprise search space, having been the driving force behind hundreds of sophisticated search and analytics implementations and software development initiatives.
John has worked in the search industry for 25 years at Excalibur Technologies, Convera, Search Technologies (where he was a founder) and Accenture. John earned an MBA and a Masters in International Relations from Boston University as well as a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Chicago.
Director of Operations, Costa Rica
Liza is the Director of Operations for Pureinsights’ Development Center in Costa Rica. She has extensive experience growing and managing large engineering teams and creating development processes to ensure that client needs are met.
Before joining Pureinsights, Liza held key technology management positions at Wunderman Thompson, POSSIBLE, and Search Technologies. Liza graduated from the Instituto Tecnologico de Costa Rica with a degree in Engineering and Computer Science.
Vice President of International Operations
Graham has been working in enterprise search since 1995 when he joined Excalibur Technologies, a leading search engine vendor (later renamed Convera). By 2006, Graham had risen to Senior VP for Worldwide Sales for Convera and was also responsible for all International Operations.
In 2009, Graham joined Search Technologies, as VP of Europe, responsible for Sales and Operations for the International region. Following the sale of Search Technologies to Accenture, Graham led the Search and Content Analytics group in the International Region. He has an excellent reputation among his clients, and a strategic knowledge of the enterprise search space. Graham studied Mechanical Engineering at Nottingham Trent University.
Vice President of Sales, Americas
John leads sales for the Americas at Pureinsights. He has a broad range of enterprise sales experience dating back to the 1980s when he delivered multi-million-dollar integrated systems to government and commercial users.
For the past 20 years, John has been leading national sales teams in the enterprise search industry, initially with Convera and then Fast Search & Transfer before joining Kamran, John, Graham and Phil at Search Technologies. Following the sale of Search Technologies to Accenture, John led the Accenture Search and Content Analytics sales team in the Americas and eventually world-wide. John is a graduate of Rutgers University and holds BA degrees in Computer Science and Economics.
Vice President of Marketing
Graham leads marketing and communications at Pureinsights. An “engineer turned marketer”, his broad experience gives him an appreciation for how companies can serve customer and market needs.
Graham worked as an IT consultant and marketing director at Netuitive, VeriSign, webMethods, and Honeywell before joining Search Technologies in 2014 as VP of Marketing. Following its successful acquisition by Accenture in 2017, Graham continued as the marketing lead for Search and Content Analytics until joining Pureinsights.
Graham studied engineering and operations research at the University of Virginia and Georgia Tech, and completed an Executive Marketing program at the UVA Darden School of Business.
Director of International Marketing
Martin is responsible for international marketing as Pureinsights continues its expansion into growth markets. He has more than 25 years of experience in marketing software and services and is an evangelist for search and data analytics.
Martin joined Pureinsights from Accenture where he worked for the Search & Content Analytics Group in Applied Intelligence. Prior to Accenture, he was Senior Manager Global OEM Partner Marketing at Qlik. Martin also spent close to 10 years working in business development roles for the enterprise search vendor Convera. Martin brings a valuable combination of marketing skills to Pureinsights including his extensive knowledge of enterprise search, data analytics and cloud computing.
Martin is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He holds an MBA from Nottingham Business School and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Nottingham Trent University.
